WELCOME TO FAR FEST AFRÍKA

FAR Fest Afríka is an African Festival. Its main purpose is to present all kinds of African performing arts regardless of the backgrounds of the performers. The festival was founded in 2009 in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Our objectives are to promote African performing arts and create awareness of African cultures, so that we can bring people together in a
spirit of education and entertainment.

This way, we promote multiculturalism and integration in Iceland.

FAR Fest Afríka festival consists of performances, workshops, seminars and exhibitions. We also cooperate with different associations promoting
African cultures, development and fair trade.

MATATA, a dynamic Kenyan/Norway music and dance group, has firmly established itself as one of the fastest rising international acts hailing from Kenya. Based in Oslo, Norway, this multi talented group comprises four members: Marcus Ojiambo, Richie Mathu, Freddy Milanya, and Festus Mwenda.

In 2020, MATATA made a significant impact on the music scene by consistently releasing major hits accompanied by incredibly well-produced music videos.
